Amazing when you see matching wear with green apples on a sweater to match a green coloured iPod. iPod has reached its critical mass!

This photo was taken at a friend's living room one day when the sun shone right on the flowers. The lightng was perfect so I grabbed my camera and shoot away at the scene. I only had a 5 minute window of opportunity before the light moves into a different area in the room. The outcome was fabulous. Love it!

This picture was taken using a technique called "Painting with Light". It is a very interesting technique with a bit of trial and error because I was shooting in the dark for almost a minute.
With the light off, a small Mag light and the camera set to manual shutter on a tripod, I shine the flash light at the subject in different angles and duration to give it the exposure. Thus one will have to estimate how long to shine the light at one particular spot before moving to another. Hence, there are lots of trials (overexpose/underexpose) to get to this final shot.
The end result is a dramactic lighting on the subject where a burst of flash light would not have given the effect you're seeing in the final picture.
Hopy you like it.

This photo is one of the first few shots I've taken when I first got my Nikon D70 in the fall of 2004. I used the 18-70mm kit lens that came with the camera to take the shot. The late evening light did a beautiful highlight and shadow on the Jaquar.
Another click later and there you have it.

Her expression is classic. I wished I have removed the white chair behind her, but she looks perfect in that shot.

This is a picture taken resently with my new Nikon 50mm f1.4 but I was close enough to the stage that I was able to use simply f2.8 for the shot. Lesson learned on taken subject wearing mostly white under spot light condition is to set your exposure compensation to -0.7 to -1.0 cause the white area will be overexpose otherwise. As well, I've used center weight metering for more accurate exposure on the the subject. The background here isn't that interesting but the subject pose was pretty good. She is standing with one leg on the tip of her toe. Even for a split second, it was amazing to see.
Granted, I would love to get the famous Nikon AFS 70-200mm F2.8 VR zoom lens to use when I can't get close to the stage as I did in the future and I don't have to sit on the cold hard concrete step for an hour to take the shot above. As well, the zoom lens allows me to take close up shot of the subject so I can isolate the unwanted background noise.

The photo was taken with my trusty Nikon D70 and a Nikon macro 105mm F2.8. It took me a while to take it under the pre-noon sun.

It was the year of the PINK last year!

This shot was taken under harsh afternoon sun. It's interesting that I was able to flush the background to white as if I took this shot in the studio.

This photo is taken by my brother on his trip to Australia. It is an amazing architect and its exterior construction is very alien like in design. Have a look at the surface details here. You'll be amazed!
